Mysteries and Clues theme week!

This week is a Mysteries and Clues theme week! We are going to be doing lots of exciting activities. Some of them include seeing Stu Duval, having 3 different rotations in the afternoon, a medical mysteries talk and a Time Capsule game! On Thursday, we will be having an open morning, where family and Whanau are welcome to come along from 10.00, have morning tea with us, then stay for our Character Parade. You will need to start thinking about your costumes! Also this week, we will be presenting our speeches and LEARN presentations. Speeches are happening on Tuesday and LEARN is taking part on Wednesday (and Friday if needed).

Peace Week Activities

Last week was Peace Week! Mrs Ely and the Peer Mediators organized a huge range of activities for us to do.
On Monday, we got to make friendship bracelets with Loom bands in the library or take part in a Chalk Art competition.
On Tuesday, we got to decorate a yummy cookie with some icing and yummy skittles.
On Wednesday, we were lucky that we had some parents coming to eat lunch with us as well as playing some board games in the library too. The teachers even had a game of netball against the Peer Mediators!
On Thursday, we had a Peer Mediator coming to the class to read a story to us.
On Friday, we had a balloon ceremony. Each class had some balloons to let go with a special peace message inside. Room 8 were the winners with 11 balloons!
We also had a special assembly to share what Peace meant to each class. We all had some really interesting ideas! We had some creative posters, pinwheels, iMovies, a dance and even a rap!
We all had a fantastic week. A big thanks to Mrs Ely and the Peer Mediators for all the work in preparing the activities!

Lloyd Elsmore Swimming

Last term, the Middle and Senior School were lucky enough to get 7 weeks of swimming lessons at Lloyd Elsmore. Each lesson was half an hour. All the children were split into 3 groups based on their ability levels. The instructors covered a range of skills, including freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, as well as kicking, floating and correct arm movements for each style. The children also did some water safety activities using life jackets and noodles as life saving tools! Check out some of the photos below.

Welcome!

Welcome to Room 9's class Blog!

We are looking forward to sharing some of our fantastic work on here. :)
